Every year, over 150 volunteers support Orange Literacy by providing office support and vital tutoring services to adults throughout Orange County. Enrich offers free English language tutoring to local non-native speakers at Carrboro Elementary on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Members are paired with one non-native English speaker and meet once or twice a week for an hour at the school just to chat.

Speaking Group through UNC’s Writing Center

Speaking Group welcomes American and international participants from the UNC campus and the local community. The group meets weekly to discuss topics of culture, university life, or language learning strategies and resources. Our goal is to create a comfortable space to converse in English, share cultural perspectives, and build global relationships in our local community. B3 Coffee

B3 Coffee is a non-profit, pop-up coffee shop that serves as a platform of positive visibility and community connection for people of all abilities. They are available for booking to serve carefully crafted, specialty coffee for special events at community or University-based venues (i.e. co-working spaces, schools, churches, conferences). One cup at a time, they aim to and influence social change toward a more inclusive and equitable world.

As a member, you’ll attend virtual, weekly, hour-long social zoom calls and volunteer at pop-ups in the community (typically bi-monthly)! You’ll also host Sunday socials bi-monthly, which is an hour-long group craft or game over Zoom. Finally, they have regular in-person celebrations for the whole team (graduation celebration, etc.)
